THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride at Churnet Valley Railway recreates the beloved Christmas film with a just-over-an-hour journey from Froghall Station in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, heading towards the Frozen North to collect Father Christmas. Families board vintage 1950s coaches, sit around tables, and settle in, as costumed characters tell the story through singing, dancing, and live entertainment. You'll receive hot chocolate, a fresh Christmas cookie, and a silver sleigh bell. The experience feels cosy and theatrical, with an authentic American-built steam locomotive powering the adventure through the festive season. Churnet Valley Railway is the only UK operator offering this experience with a genuine steam engine. Guests are invited to wear festive pyjamas and should bring coats and gloves for the platform. Allow around ninety minutes for the full experience including arrival and departure.
