CBSO 2026/27 Kazuki conducts The Nutcrackers, brings festive classics to Birmingham Town Hall on the 10th December 2026. This concert fuses Tchaikovsky's ballet with Duke Ellington's jazz reimagining, and Bernstein's sassy swagger. Expect sparkle and groove in equal measure. Conductor, Kazuki Yamada, and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, perform selections from The Nutcracker, alongside Ellington's 'Sugar Rum Cherry' and other jazzed-up takes on the beloved score. The CBSO's clarinet soloist, Oliver Janes, performs Bernstein's Prelude, Fugue and Riffs, a piece originally written for jazz legend Benny Goodman. The whole concert runs approximately two hours. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. Group bookings and concessionary prices are available.
